The team is led by Dr. Bu Shuxia and currently consists of 13 members, with 50% holding doctoral degrees and 60% holding senior professional titles. The team members serve as members of the Wave Stability Technical Committee of the International Towing Pool Conference (ITTC), a young member of the Sea Ice Professional Committee of the Ocean Society, and an editorial board member of the Journal of Hydrodynamics Research and Progress. They have been selected for the "Youth Talent Promotion" of the China Association for Science and Technology and the first batch of "Top Youth" talent programs of China Shipbuilding Corporation.


The team has been committed to fundamental and applied research in ship mechanics for a long time, with the main research direction being the safety and environmental adaptability of ships in complex ocean environments. The team has developed prediction methods and experimental methods that can accurately reproduce the time-domain process of failure modes around the phenomenon of extreme ship motion, ranking among the top in the international comparison of application effects. They have also innovatively carried out research on interdisciplinary coupling mechanical models and prediction methods in hydrodynamics. The team has taken the lead in undertaking over 40 scientific research projects through various channels, including equipment pre research, high-tech ships from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and the National Natural Science Foundation of China; Published over 200 academic papers in important domestic and international journals, including over 50 SCI/EI papers, over 20 software copyrights, and submitted over 40 IMO proposals.
