On May 23, the Science and Technology Department of Jiangsu Province organized an expert demonstration meeting on the construction plan of the Taihu Laboratory for Deep Sea Technology Science in Wuxi. Zhou Weixin, Secretary of the Party Committee of the No. 702 Institute, and other leaders attended the meeting.
 

 

Experts attending the meeting inspected the construction of the Taihu Lake Laboratory of Deep Sea Technology and Science on the spot, and listened to the report on the laboratory construction plan. The expert group conducted in-depth discussions on the significance of laboratory construction, basic conditions, overall construction plan, development planning and operation management mechanism.

In response to General Secretary Xi Jinping's general requirements for building a national laboratory, Taihu Laboratory focuses on the major national strategic needs in the field of deep-sea technology and science, and develops "common technology foundation", "deep-sea carrying technology", "deep-sea information technology", "deep-sea information technology" and "deep-sea equipment" based on deep-sea equipment. The research on the technology system with the core of "operation support technology" is in line with the strategic development direction of the country and Jiangsu Province, and is of great significance to safeguarding the core interests of my country's deep-sea strategic new frontier.

The expert group believes that the construction plan of the Taihu Lake Laboratory for Deep Sea Technology and Science is in line with the provincial laboratory construction requirements, and it is recommended that the project be approved. At the same time, it is suggested that Jiangsu Province should further increase the investment and promotion efficiency in the construction of Taihu Laboratory, and increase the special policy support for talent training and introduction, so as to create conditions for Taihu Laboratory to become a national laboratory.
